Just In Time For The Holidays… Charlie Daniels’ Sweet Potatoes

We’ve got an exclusive AllCreated recipe for you, and you’re gonna love it!

Grammy-winning country singer Charlie Daniels has written for Elvis Presley and recorded with Bob Dylan, but is perhaps best known for his classic hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Below is Charlie’s favorite Christmas recipe for his family’s Sweet Potato Dish, adapted from the new book Country Faith Christmas.

3 cups sweet potatoes cooked and mashed
1 cup sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup milk

Mix all ingredients together; place in baking dish sprayed with Pam

Topping Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar
½ cup flour
12 cup butter softened
¾ cup chopped pecans

Mix together and then spread on top of potatoes.

Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees until browned. Watch your time; you don’t want to dry out the potatoes!

We just know you’ll love this family recipe as much as Charlie himself. Let us know how yours turns out once you make it! 🙂

You’ll find Charlie’s Christmas treat along with recipes from Dolly Parton, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Alan Jackson, Reba and dozens more in Country Faith Christmas—new from Regnery Faith.
