Here are the ingredients and how to make these yummy Puff-Pastry Baked Hotdogs…and at the end are some tips from our chef at With A Blast!

Ingredients:
(2) Rolls of Frozen Puff-Pastry, defrosted

(12) Frankfurter Sausages  {or your favorite Hotdog Sausage}

(12) Slices Processed Gouda Cheese  {or any easy melt type cheese}

(1) Egg, lightly beaten

Sesame Seeds, to sprinkle  {optional}

5-Easy Steps:

1) Pre-heat the oven to 200 deg C (400 deg F) – line 2 baking sheets with baking paper.

2) Unroll each roll of Puff-Pastry – cut each into 6 rectangular pieces (result in 12 servings).

3) Slice each of the Sausages lengthwise, but not all the way through – press the Processed Cheese into the slits of the Sausages and pinch close {processed cheese is very soft and easy to fit into the slits}.

4) Place a Sausage, open side down, in the center of a piece of Puff Pastry – fold over the sides – brush with a little water to seal and place seam side down on the baking sheet – repeat with the rest {leave a small gap between each other on the baking sheet}.

5) Brush each Hotdog with Egg and sprinkle over Sesame Seed {seeds optional} – bake 22 – 25 minutes or until puffed and golden. YUM!

Some final thoughts from our chef:  As you ‘seal’ the pastry with the hotdog inside, pinch the pastry with a little bit of water on your fingertips to help mold the pastry closed; The hotdog bake, the cheese will ‘ooze’ out…but that’s ok; Feel free to double the recipe and make 24 hotdog puffs – your cookie sheet will get full and the puffs might ‘grow’ together while being baked, but that’s ok too, just pull apart before serving! And ENJOY!!

These Puff-Pastry Baked Hotdogs are the perfect weekend treat or party snack. Great for the summer cookout season or the chilly fall.
