3 Ingredient DIY Ant Killer

Reclaim Your Kitchen With This Simple Ant Killer Recipe

It’s not even summer yet, but nobody told that to the parade of little ants who are marching across my kitchen counter toward my bananas! (I knew it was bound to happen, their sandy little mounds were popping up all over my lawn!) I was searching for a solution to my kitchen insect army problem when I came across this killer ant killer recipe from Tip Hero:

Ingredients:

– 2 tablespoons Borax (active ingredient)
– 2 tablespoons of honey, jam or jelly
– 1 teaspoon of sugar (white or brown will both work)
– 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)

Steps:

Just mix all the ingredients together in a little dish. The mix will be a little wet so place it in the middle of a sheet of plastic wrap and place it wherever you see ants. I placed mind on my kitchen counter which is a hot bed of ant activity. Just leave overnight. In the morning you should wake up to dead ants. You can just pickup the plastic wrap with the ants fold it up and toss in the garbage.

Editor’s Note: Borax is a toxin, which is why it’s able to kill ants. If you have fur-babies or little ones in your home who would be at risk if they found the ant trap, you can replace borax with black pepper or cinnamon, which others have reported to have had success with killing ants.

If you know of any other non-toxic ingredients that eliminate ants, please share them with us in the comment section below!
