Not many people practice the art of calligraphy. This lost art is quite complicated and not a lot of people have that time nowadays. Just as lovely, however, is hand lettering, which is actually considered drawing of letters versus a form of handwriting. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to address cards or do craft lettering with the confidence that you will end up with a professional quality result without paying the professional price? Thankfully, the folks over at FTD heard our struggles and they came up with an amazing hand lettering tutorial. They have put together complete guidelines, with a materials list, letter guide and video tutorial, all to help teach you this precious skill.
Take a look and see that this technique is really quite methodical and only requires a little bit of practice. Once you have the basics, you can play with some of the other techniques such as flourishes and embellishments to make your lettering your own.
