Jezebel Sauce Brings Sweet And Heat To Apps And More

Have you ever had Jezebel Sauce?  It’s a delicious southern throwback that deserves a place at your table.  Once you have tasted it, you won’t be able to get enough!

I have been a fan of Jezebel Sauce for decades.  My first taste was poured over cream cheese and served with crackers.  The combination of hot and sweet was the first version of pepper jelly that I had ever had and I fell in love.  That dish was courtesy of a lovely Mother of a friend of mine who hailed from Kentucky and she was the quintessential Southern Lady.  I begged her for the recipe and she reluctantly gave it to me, but swore me to secrecy.  To this day, I have never shared it.  I have served her Jezebel Sauce at countless parties and have also jarred it as Christmas gifts for years.  It’s wonderful as a traditional canape, but also versatile as a condiment served with chicken and shrimp or spread on ham biscuits.

While pepper jellies are quite popular, this “cousin” is not as widely known.  But let me tell you, it’s just as good as any gourmet jelly on the market.  Chaos Served Daily is bringing us her recipe and it’s darn close to the one that I have.  She also has printable gift tag on her site that allow you to package Jezebel Sauce for your loved ones.  I promise you, it’s a treat that they won’t forget!
