Have you ever seen photos of a town that appears so magical that it must be a movie set? Well, THIS is one of those towns…except it’s real…very real.
Welcome to Giethoorn. A tiny town in northern Hollad. Only 2,600 residents live there and although there are a few B&Bs in the area, this quaint town does not get a large share of tourists.

And, yet this beautifully secluded spot can be accessed by car if you’re traveling from Amsterdam.
Interestingly enough, their tourism website says, “The loudest sound you can normally hear is the quacking of a duck or the noise made by other birds.”

And even the mailman delivers the mail via a flat-bottom boat.
