Beer can chicken is known for it’s ease of preparation and its flavorful, fall off the bone juiciness.  Take yours up a notch with this spicy and tangy BBQ Beer Can Chicken recipe.

If you have never made beer can chicken, you have really been missing out.  The beer steaming the bird from the inside out really does make for a moist and succulent main dish.  How about trying out this technique the next time you fire up the grill?  It just requires a little bit of extra planning to give that bird time to absorb all those flavors, but think of how good it will smell as it’s cooking!  The neighbors might come calling!

 

 

My Nourished Home is bringing us her special BBQ Beer Can Chicken recipe that is just loaded with wonderful spices and sauce.  We can’t wait to try this and dig into that caramelized, crispy skin and juicy meat.  Mmm!  Imagine this with Slow Cooker Corn On The Cob or Slow Cooker Bourbon Baked Beans.  Is anyone else’s mouth watering?!

 

 

Here’s your ingredient list for BBQ Beer Can Chicken:

Note that this recipe is for 2 chickens, serving 6-8 people.  The chickens can be grilled or smoked.

  • Chipotle Spice Mix
    • 1 tbsp kosher salt
    • 1 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
    • 2-3 tbsp chipotle powder based on preference
    • 2 tbsp paprika
    • 2 tsp onion powder
    • 2 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tbsp dried thyme
    Chickens and Sauce
    • 2 3-4 lbs whole chickens
    • 2 cups your favorite barbecue sauce, more or less based on preference
    • 1/3 cup olive oil
